2O performed a stunning routine to the Railway Song last Friday, June 1.
Firstly our teacher, Mrs O’Donnell, gave us a sheet of paper with the words to the song on it. After a while we learnt the actions. It was a little bit hard as we had to get perfect timing with the music. Then we brought our clothes in for a dress rehearsal. The clothes had be dark and dusty, and we had to wear jeans because railway workers don’t wear shorts. We had to put shoe polish on our faces so we looked dirty. Railway workers get dusty and greasy. We had to put facial cream on our faces to wipe the shoe polish off.
On performance day we got a little nervous and had butterflies in our tummys. Sarah took a deep breath in the bathroom. Our class went to the new hall early to get dressed and ready for the big performance. Teira had to wear an apron and get prepared to be the kitchen lady. Jackson had to hide behind the kitchen set and be the banjo player. Luke was the captain, and the rest of the class were the railway workers.
We had to perform it for a second time after assembly had finished so Mrs O’Donnell could film it for the blog. The performance was great fun and we would like to do it again! Here is the video of our performance.
