The Human Body Stage 2

Stage 2 have recently finished the ‘Human Body’ unit of learning. The students created powerpoint presentations, quizzes,  completed virtual activities, visual art and written projects. They were extremely busy and engaged as they immersed themselves in their learning. Click on the Youblisher book to view examples of their work. Great work everyone 🙂

3C Limericks

A limerick is a 5 line poem that rhymes with aabba. Lines 1, 2 and 5 have to rhyme with each other. Our teacher wrote a limerick for our class which we wrote in our work books. You can make limericks sound funny or sad, and Lachlan found rhyming hard.

Here are some of our limericks.  Ahamed and Mrs Booth filmed us.

3C Claymation

3C have been working hard on their claymation movies that are being made using the iPad. It is a very time consuming process but in the meantime, as you continue with your projects, be inspired by this video of ‘Gulp’ the world’s largest stop motion animation that was shot using 3 mobile phones. The second video that runs for 5 minutes is amazing as it shows you how  the film was made. Maybe this is a project for 3C down at the harbour? Here is a hyper link to the wonderful Wallace & Gromit website which is probably the most well known clay animation series.

3C explore the ‘ou’ sound

3C was very productive as they embarked on rotational group activities focussed on literacy and specifically words with an ‘ou’ sound such as ‘cloud, sound and proud for example. One activity was using small boards and letters and the students constructing  particular ‘ou’ words; another activity was using the spelling cards which had specific tasks that the student’s had to complete, and the final activity involved playing ‘Hangman’ on the SMART Board using the spelling words for the week.  Lots of fun and learning. Class 3C were also fortunate to have Miss Kennedy to help teach them as she is completing her final Practicum for her teaching degree at Southern Cross University.

Mathew wanted to show Mrs Booth his report from a  Behind the News episode on Bat Man!  He is not the comic book hero but an amazing man who is blind and uses sonar skills to be able to ‘see’. Here is the link to the report: Bat Man BTN
