About Us

Coffs Harbour Public School is a comprehensive Kindergarten to Year 6 primary school in the North Coast region. We encourage students to be safe, be fair, be kind and be cooperative. We provide regular opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate their talents and interests in all areas. Differentiated learning occurs in our mainstream and Special Education classes throughout the school to cater for the individual learning needs of our students. Individualised Learning Plans are developed for students requiring physical, behavioural or academic modifications to suit their learning needs. Our support unit caters for all students with disabilities. Programs are adapted and needs based so that all students have every opportunity to participate in all aspects of school life.

Coffs Harbour Public School is committed to being responsible, respectful, safe and striving for excellence. This is to be achieved through: the provision of comprehensive programs which promote quality education; the creation of a positive environment which recognises excellent performance, personal growth and self-esteem; the delegation and acceptance of responsibility involving individual and collective participation throughout the school and community; and the efficient and effective management of resources.

Coffs Harbour Public School has a student population of 428. We have 16 mainstream classes and 5 special education classes. 25% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. 27% of our students are EALD and there are 16 languages spoken as first language across our school.  This diversity is celebrated and valued.

Coffs Harbour Public School is a growing school. We have a strong reputation for providing high quality, evidence based teaching for all students which is underpinned by ongoing and relevant professional learning for all staff.

The school is involved with the Early Action for Success strategy (EA4S). This reform is having huge benefits to the teaching and learning of students in Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two.
