As of this term CHPS will be a collection point for students and staff to recycle their ‘oral health care’ and ‘beauty products’.

The following products are accepted:

  1. Toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrush and toothpaste tube outer packaging, toothbrushes and floss containers.
  2. Cosmetic packaging such as used lipstick and lip gloss, mascara, eye shadow, bronzer, foundation, eyeliner, eye shadow, lip liner, and concealer packaging.
  3. Hair care packaging such as used shampoo and conditioner bottles and caps, hair gel tubes and caps, hair spray and hair treatment packaging.
  4. Skin care packaging such as lip balm, face moisturiser, face and body wash soap dispensers and tubes, body and hand lotion dispensers and tubes and shaving foam packaging.

Any brands are accepted (not just Colgate OR Loreal). Two labelled bins are outside Miss Morgan’s classroom for collection.

This is a great initiative through TerraCycle.

TerraCycle offers free recycling programs funded by brands, manufacturers, and retailers around the world to help you collect and recycle your hard-to-recycle waste.

TerraCycle reuses, upcycles and recycles waste instead of incinerating or landfilling it. This moves waste from a linear system to a circular one, allowing it to keep cycling in our economy.
